For Poland (4-12 3-7) Michelle Benson scored a season-high 21 points and Missy Haug added 13. Salem 56 Niles 32NILES ? It was a MAC game that produced 16 3-point baskets ? nine by Salem and seven by Niles. Both teams made only one free throw; Salem was 1-for-2 and Niles was 1-of-4.

A seven-time regional finalist Lamport has been named the Mahoning Valley Coaches Association Coach of the Year 12 times. ?I have been fortunate to have had such dedicated and hard-working players? said Lamport.

27 People around the world commemorated Holocaust Remembrance Day Sunday on the 63rd anniversary of the Auschwitz concentration camp liberation in Poland. A ceremony was held at the camp itself and the governments of other countries observed moments of silence Polish radio reported. The remembrance is bittersweet because only about 8000 people were liberated Polish radio said. Most of the camp’s 56000 inmates had already been moved to Germany in a death march that killed thousands.
