on March 3 at Pearl Street Grill & Brewery. The idea for the event came from Steve Poland a Kenmore native who’s had tech industry jobs all over the country. That’s where he first heard of BarCamps: workshops where participants provide the content. When he returned home the 29-year-old said he found few opportunities to meet others like him in the tech world. “I thought this would be a great way to do networking in an informal way” said Poland who’d like to oversee monthly events where those involved in new technology and web-related development can connect and learn from one another. Poland expects up to 50 on March 3.

Wilk she endowed the Polish Music Center in 1984 and it opened a year later. With its focus on contemporary composers it has become home to the largest public collection of Polish music materials outside Poland. The center contains approximately 10000 items including books scores manuscripts recordings periodicals and other documents. Wanda Wilk served as the center’s director for the first 10 years of its operation and initiated the center’s manuscript collection by soliciting gifts of original scores from composer Witold Lutoslawski and composer and conductor Stanislaw Skrowaczewski. ver the years her generosity helped facilitate on-campus concerts by some of the leading names in contemporary Polish music. In ctober 1997 she hosted the reclusive composer Henryk Gorecki’s residency on campus.

Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of Ukrainian Vice Premier Ivan Vasiunik citing a joint declaration by the Ukrainian and Polish sides. Vice Premier Ivan Vasiunik and Polish Polish Sport and Tourism Minister Miroslaw Drzewiecki signed a joint declaration following their negotiations on Friday. “The sides have agreed to deepen cooperation at the interdepartmental level coordination of joint actions and exchange of experience” the declaration reads. According to the declaration the Euro 2012 European football championship finals will have far-reaching political economic and humanitarian implications not only for Ukraine and Poland but for Europe on the whole.

the exhibition” which has toured a number of countries consists of 13 corpses and around 250 body parts which have undergone a process known as “plastination” which preserves human tissue permanently using liquid silicone rubber. “We are investigating this case to check whether the corpses were not desecrated and whether all procedures needed to mount such an exhibition in Poland were carried out” a spokesman for the Warsaw prosecutors’ office Mateusz Martyniuk told Reuters. The exhibition which has also drawn criticism from some Polish politicians is housed in a Warsaw shopping mall and is scheduled to run until mid-July. The organizers said they had met all legal requirements to bring it to Poland. “The exhibition entered the European Union a few months ago and in line with all sanitary procedures customs regulations and others” said Agnieszka Rojewska from Media Metropolis the public relations agency promoting the display in Poland. She said more than 10000 people had visited the exhibition since it opened a week ago.
